In my opinion, the most enchanting part of the day in Hawaiʻi is, “Hawaiʻi by night.” I find it to be the most impactful experience of the day. With a full moon, the atmospheric qualities of the beautiful South Pacific night skies become a spectacle for the soul. You can almost see the moisture in the air along with billowing cloud formations and dancing stars. An ensemble for the eye to see and the body to feel.
This brings me to my most collectible subject matter featuring my MOON paintings.
“By The Sea” reminds me of “old Hawaiʻi”. The tones and color palette are a little more subdued compared to what you may be used to me painting. The subject matter of the simplistic lifestyle featuring the Polynesian manmade hut along the shoreline of the sea. The scene is lit under the full moon, highlighting the movement of the palm trees and the “hale” as you take a stroll down the pathway to the waters edge.
Simplicity at its very best!
